I thought he was a killer acquisition.
Why did Florian Ederer fail tenure?

tenure at top 10 is not just about bean counting. You have to be an authority in the field. I’d argue he is, a least wrt killer acquisitions, but he takes the common ownership stuff to meme level
First one got jf is fine, but second one got jpe? It would be ms/jfqa/rof at best if written by lrm

Isn’t he officially an economics professor within Yale SoM?
For an economist at a top place, two top 5s in 12 years since PhD is not very much, so this doesn’t seem that surprising.
He seems to have a niche now and I’m sure he will do all right on the job market at a somewhat lower-ranked place.

Probably he is guilty of overselling the KA paper, which is not nearly as big of a deal as he thinks, and the common ownership stuff is laughable. Plus, the whole twitter thing.
Isn't all the common ownership stuff taken from a dissertation by another guy (which FE and MS have been exploiting)?
