As an undergrad I devoured the pop Econ books. Harford especially. Then I hit Cowen’s book and it totally turned me off of the whole genre.
He’s a terrible, bland writer. Zero personality comes through. I can differentiate an Alex T post from his in the first sentence.

It almost seems like he is writing informally.
Literate people don’t make basic punctuation mistakes when writing informally. If you’ve actually read books regularly in your life, such mistakes are like eyesores. I know this seems strange to the uneducated masses, but that’s why why you’re in the uneducated masses.
