recent placements are much worse than Northwestern Econ even with such a small cohort each year
Why would anyone go to MEDS?

^^ This is ridiculous. 19 grads from 2009 to 2014, which is roughly the size of a normal NW econ class. Placement:
Penn econ
LSE b-school
Rochester b-school
Toronto b-school
Chicago Harris
Bonn econ
Arizona econ
Rutgers econ
NUS econ
UC Irving econ
ITAM
Bilkent
postdoc Princeton polisci (currently visiting AP at Carnegie Mellon, where husband teaches)
postdoc Kellogg (hasn't really gone on the market yet)
Goldman Sachs
Ebay Research
Bates White
Cornerstone
CornerstoneNorthwestern econ would be very happy if that was their placement in a given year. And choosing 2009-2014 is basically worst-case MEDS placement, since this year they have a huge star, and in 2008 they placed in HBS, Carnegie, Stern, LSE finance and Rochester Simon.
