For people who understand the quality of accounting research: should the fact that CMU forced out SK, AB, and TR be strictly interpreted as punishment (in which case TR got hosed) or were the research records really dubious for CMU-like school?

I've been looking around for their original working paper that says they use the Russell rankings, but it seems to have been scrubbed from the internet. Can anyone point me to a copy?

No. CMU’s accounting department is a subordinate of their economics department and there is no serious accounting scholar there
