Does anyone know how the HireVue system works?
I read that it is automated and that it's an AI logarithm that classifies candidates into fit and unfit by analyzing not only the responses but also facial expressions and movements!
In the HireVue interview portal when I took it:
"Wondering how you'll be reviewed?
Our hiring team will review your submission. This interview experience is designed to give you the opportunity to shine beyond your application, reduce bias, and help the hiring team make better decisions.
For this role, only our team members will evaluate your submission. No computer-assisted evaluation (AI) is being used."
It says no AI evaluation will be used.

I honestly hope that whoever shared those questions does not make it to the Bank. I would hate working with people who have no integrity and who believe in short cuts. Considering the sensitivity and confidentiality of the work we deal with at the Bank and the effort involved, you are not suitable for the Bank if you need to always cheat, in order to advance in life.

I’m not sure how much of a cheater the person who shared the questions really is, if you believe it creates that much of a disadvantage then they’ve suffered equally as much as you have.
Besides, at no point during the hirevue stage do the bank suggest the questions should remain confidential. You might think that’s a given but at the panel stage they do in fact repeat the importance of confidentiality - so if they cared as much as you they’d probably make that clear

Sharing information that was not confidential is in no way cheating. Still there is anyway uncertainty until the moment you actually take the interview. Also, since you have insights from the Bank you could also be more advantaged than the rest and most probably you have more information than the rest of us. Isn’t that double standard?
As long as we were not told to keep it confidential we can do/share and say whatever. Also, you can find the questions on glassdoor, not only here.
If you have nothing else better to do, go and report all the forums.

Since there isn't a time constraint when reviewing your recorded answer for each of the questions, the platform allows you to prepare and develop your answer in between attempts. If they wanted fully spontaneous responses, there would be some kind of restriction on the time in between attempts or the overall time to submit.
Even the FAQs say that the interview must be submitted within *two hours* of starting, or it will time-out. They're fully aware of this feature of the platform and publicly acknowledge it.

The Bank takes it as common sense that applicants seeking to join have the decency and common sense to know that interview processes are confidential. I guess they are wrong to assume this should be obvious to someone joining the bank.
It is great to have someone who works at the WBG be engaged in the conversations here. You can help answer some of the questions that many of us might have, so thank you. Yet, I do not think that the sample here is very representative.
However, here is some feedback for future HireVue interviews, which hopefully you will consider for the next cohorts.
I think it is wrong to assume and expect something from someone unless you specifically ask them something. If sharing the questions after someone specifically asked for them in the conditions that it was never mentioned that they are confidential is so wrong, it should be clearly stated either in the emails or when you are receiving the HireVue information, instead of expecting something from people. Clear communication is extremely important, even more so, if we are talking about confidentiality, ethical code, and so on. Confidentiality cannot be based on what is expected of someone and assumptions.
If you look at the previous year discussion, the HireVue questions were also shared there, yet not the panel ones, since it was clearly requested not to.
In my opinion, the ones who shared the questions showed consideration for the ones who asked them and proved to be kind. These are qualities you want in a YPP. Best of luck to everyone!
