   To any applicant reading this who has seen how both Openigo and others have taken over the forum and is wondering, please do not use their services.
   They almost never work and you do not need them. Don't be convinced to pay them money for some alleged YP insights.

There are many things you can do to make your application documents stronger and that's what our specialists will help you with. Also, on our website we clearly state that we do not represent the World Bank or any other intergovernmental organization.

   Just like many people look for preparation for financial tests (CFA/CFP), english proficiency tests and many other things, I don't see any problem in offering help for those that want to be better prepared for international selection processes.

   It can’t hurt though can it? Even if they increase your chance of acceptance by 5% or less, wouldn’t it be worth it to spend the money? The amount is insignificant in the long run

   As far as I know, none of the current YPPs have ever used these types of services, meaning they have a 0% success rate.

   I neither have a PhD, nor a Master's thesis. Relevant work-ex yes, but what a long shot this will be! Moreover, I come from an over represented pool. Let's see how this goes.

    Yes, Indians are not wyt so it's ok

    It is important that all of your documents tell the "same story" about you. For instance, you could write some lines justifying the relevance of the results of your research for the WBG institution/unit that you want to apply for.

    Except that you have zero success rates and are merely preying on people for financial gain while being unable to give them results! Shame on you.

    I do work at the World Bank and I can tell you with certainty that Openingo or whatever review service will not increase your chances. I have met majority of the current two cohorts of YPs and none I know used these services.

    If you really with insights, approach a YP on LinkedIn or a person who works in the relevant unit you are interested in. Most people will be kind enough to help you and give you actual real useful information. But if you have money to spend with zero positive outcome, go ahead with these review services.

    Not to dissuade everyone, but do approach this round with a grain of salt if you're, say, a white male or an Indian male, or any combination of traits that are very common in the WBG. Just look at previous selections of YPP and you'll see that it is intentionally very diverse, which means there's very few people selected from any given country. Since more males apply than females, the same issue comes up. Again, not saying you shouldn't try, but realize that it can be much more competitive for you depending on your characteristics.

    Indians are over-represented everywhere, even in the World.

    4500 characters- and spaces count!! Just had to re-do half my essay on the fly because of the confusing instructions on the "apply" landing page which states 750 words OR 4500 characters.

    Hi, I just submitted my application but I didn't see a section for listing our referees. How are they contacted if we pass the screening stage? Or are we asked to send the letters of recommendation ourselves?
