Got my city and date for India interview 2 days. Does the choice of city seem very weird to anyone else?

Brace yourself guys, I applied last 2 years as well and crossed to the interview stage. Haven't this time, but it feels like all invites are out. They really should send rejection emails instead of dragging out our misery.

I think You are right, I am in a similar situation. The probability that all the invites are out is very high. We should not be surprise to receiving rejections in the coming days. I have an information from a WB staff who have received invite to be part of the interviewer team. I think the YP's team focus now is to determine the best interview location for candidates and constitute the AC and panel members(That is interviewers).
I hope to be wrong.

I hope you are wrong, but i think you might be right. Some people said that they would have the interview in January. So either everyone has it in January and they still send invitations or everything is already out.
Yet there is still a slim chance for 1 more round. They need to invite the IFC candidates as well.
There are 4 batches in total, so far the invitations started 3 weeks ago. It could be that 1 more batch of invitations will be coming this week.

If this helps, IFC invites went out last week I think, so did the rejections.

Well I got rejection from IFC at 12:20 am on Nov 24th US time.
Good luck for the rest of you!This somewhat proves the feeling that I had, that the YPP HR team is not necessarily based in the DC. Looks like the the HQ gives broad timelines to Regional Offices and the latter is autonomous in decision-making regarding panel invites / rejections, etc. Only that explains the time and date of your email.
