73% women hired and you believe in no quotas? Talk about being naive. Good luck at the WB and remember: you probably weren't even the best out of your batch. Others, far more experienced and smarter could not make it due to the ridiculous policies.
btw, there are no such things as quotas at the Bank

Applied earlier today, application form reloaded when I pressed submit. From last year's experience I knew of this issue so I refilled and submitted again. This time it showed a message that the application was submitted and that I would receive an email with my application ID. The system then logged out automatically.
I haven't received any application ID so far, does anyone have an idea what's going on? -
This is actually great advice. Most people forget that, hence the resentment after failing or not getting matched after the interview. The bank is gradually changing and becoming even more operation oriented. After the whole Romer episode and due to some other internal changes there has been a gradual scaling down of the research department. Plus, the research department usually hires directly from the market in any case.
YP is ALL clients and operations. If you don't think this is your jam, don't bother. YP is NOT RESEARCH.
I think lots of people forget this, thinking you can get in at WB and then do what you want. YP IS OPERATIONS.Want to re-up both of these. I'm a research focused type who did an interview last year for YP. Didn't move on. I'm almost certain its because I clearly dismissed client interactions and spent much of the time talking about research and research agendas.
If this is what you want to do, make sure you take time to think about client interactions, client services, and how you can best diversity and serve with your portfolio.

Haven't received any confirmation email since submission but when I log back to re-apply, the portal shows my YPP ID and date of application submission. Just letting everyone know if they face the same problem.
Same for me. Didn‘t get confirmation e-mail but upon login it shows YPP ID for 5 seconds before it automatically redirects to WB homepage

I miss the age requirement with a month and they explicitly tell that they don't make exceptions regarding the age requirement. Anyone has heard of a case where they actually made an exception for someone slightly older than the given maximum age?
Sorry bro they don't. A friend is missing the October date by a week and he emailed them but they said it is binding

Someone answer this question please:
Hi guys, had a query. Hope someone can help. On 3rd page of application, we are asked to specify school/college/faculty. What does this require, considering we are already giving the name of the institution in the same page? I'm a bit flummoxed regarding this.
-
Guys what does the application look like? And what documents do I need to upload?
Seriously? Just go to the page. If you can't be bothered to do this, what makes you think you'd be good for YP?
I think I will be a great YP because I am a women from a third world country under-represented at the world Bank.
Don't feed the troll.
