Yale vs. Princeton
-
I think that, on average, for finance Princeton >> Yale, and for metrics/IO Yale > Princeton.
Check faculty and what they do, and weight in which area you like the most. If you are 100% interested in finance, maybe Princeton is a better fit but if you are not so convinced for one area you should think it through.
Also, check the JMP of people in those areas in both schools, not for the topics or research ideas per se but for the way they answer the questions (i.e., if one department answering something in a more applied way or theoretical way, and if that's something you would like to do in a future)

Princeton is much better than Yale overall. Just see the placements. Don’t choose a phd program based on particular fields, your preferences will change in the first years.
Before 2020, Yale's placements were much better than Princeton's, they are in the same league overall

Maybe at the top, not the median
