That's at least what the seniors at Yale think. You'll notice that every appearance of his in Japan highlights "Yale" to an obnoxious degree.
The main issue is still research though. Labor seniors feel his research is poor. Hell, even Angrist (his advisor) thinks YN is a BS artist now.
